Six 1 km runs and six training stations will test competitors at the Mega Hyatlón in Son Moix Velodrome, Palma, Mallorca, on 3 and 4 October. It is Spain's first event in the H6 format, which alternates each running section with a functional-training station. People aged 16 and over can compete alone, in pairs or in three-person relay teams.

The organiser says the format will test cardiovascular endurance, strength, power, coordination and the ability to keep going.

Six runs and six training stations

The stations include 1 km on a SkiErg machine, a 50-metre sled push, 80 metres of burpees with a long jump, 1 km of rowing, 100 metres of lunges carrying a sandbag and 100 wall balls.

At the weight stations, women will push a 102-kilogram sled, use a 10-kilogram sandbag for the lunges and throw a 4-kilogram ball. The men's weights are 152 kilograms for the sled, 20 kilograms for the sandbag and 6 kilograms for the ball.

There will be men's, women's, pairs, relay and mixed categories, as well as age-group standings.

Free trial run on Saturday

A free Mega Hyatlón trial will take place on Saturday at the Sports Fair in the Municipal Sports Palace of Son Moix. Registration is required for the course, which has five 500-metre running sections alongside the SkiErg, burpees with a long jump, rowing, sandbag lunges and wall balls.

Competitors can also earn patches for taking part in one, two or three categories. A separate 100 Wall Balls by Powerade challenge is also planned.
