Meliá plans Rome luxury hotel with 67 rooms and suites

Meliá Hotels International plans to open a luxury hotel with 67 rooms and suites in central Rome, Italy, in 2027: its boutique brand, The Meliá Collection, has never had a hotel in the city before. The Balearic hotel group announced the deal with Italian property and investment company Gruppo Stay on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. The hotel is planned for Via XX Settembre, near Via Veneto.

Plans include a restaurant, a bar, a wellness area and a rooftop bar. Meliá says the hotel will be run under a franchise agreement.

It is Meliá’s third project with Gruppo Stay, following two hotel projects in the Italian Alps. The new hotel would be Meliá’s second in Rome. Counting hotels already open and those still in development, the group now has 19 properties across Italy.
