Escarrer shared a photograph of the pair and said the meeting offered a chance to look back on the partnership and consider its next steps. He also said strong partners often prove to be strong people, before thanking Messi as “a genius”.

Since 1 November 2025, Meliá has managed MiM Hoteles, Messi’s hotel business, under its The Meliá Collection brand as part of the Mallorca group’s growth strategy. MiM’s six hotels are in Sitges, Ibiza, Mallorca, Baqueira, Sotogrande and Andorra.

When the deal was announced, Messi said the partnership would improve the experience for everyone. Both sides have spoken positively about the agreement since then.
