The Balearic hotel group Meliá Hotels International now manages two more hotels in Bangkok, Thailand, setting up its luxury brand’s first move into South-East Asia. It took over operations on 6 November 2026 at The Kasem House Bangkok Hotel, with 280 rooms, and The Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 26, with 177. Both are in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit commercial district, where Meliá is working with local group Asset World Corp.

The hotels will keep their current names while they are refurbished. By the end of 2027, The Kasem House Bangkok Hotel is due to become ME by Meliá, bringing the luxury brand to South-East Asia for the first time. The Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 26 is due to become a Meliá Hotels & Resorts property.

Meliá already operates INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit and has done so since 2023. Beyond Bangkok, the group and Asset World Corp plan to offer more than 3,000 rooms across Thailand by 2036. Their plans include Paradisus Jomtien Resort in Pattaya, scheduled to open in 2031.

Across Asia-Pacific, Meliá currently operates 46 hotels, with another 11 at various stages of development.
