Mallorca, Spain, now has 80 memory workshop groups, six more than last course, with nearly 1,800 people taking part. The Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs restarted the sessions in October for the 2026–2027 course. In Capdepera, Mallorca, 30 people have signed up to a group that began on 8 October.

The Council of Mallorca says growing demand prompted the expansion. It strengthens existing groups in Binissalem, Santa Maria del Camí, Andraitx, Manacor, Muro, Sóller and Puerto de Sóller. Aimed at people over 60, the workshops — formally called cognitive stimulation workshops — combine memory exercises with activities that help people connect. The Capdepera group meets every Thursday from 09.30 to 10.30.

Participants also have a course book, presented in Campos, Mallorca, on 9 October. Drawn up by institute staff, it includes exercises for memory and other thinking skills, alongside material on popular culture and new technology. A participant created the cover; two more drawings by people in the programme appear on the back.
