Woman dies in Menorca Me-1 road crash

A woman has died after two cars collided on Menorca’s Me-1 on Thursday. Five other people, including a baby under two, were hurt in the crash between Alaior and Maó. One of the vehicles overturned at kilometre 7, trapping all five people inside.

The crash happened at 16.30. Firefighters from Menorca freed the injured occupants from the overturned vehicle.

SAMU 061 treated the five for multiple injuries before taking them to Hospital Mateu Orfila and Juaneda Ciutadella. They include the baby, a 45-year-old man and women aged 27, 47 and 34. Two medical ambulances, a health ambulance, a basic life-support ambulance, a logistics vehicle and the Guardia Civil also attended.
