Menorca: Three PP mayors face complaints over posts

Three PP mayors on Menorca face complaints over announcements on their councils’ official social media accounts. Més per Menorca lodged the complaints with the Menorca Electoral Board on Thursday, 22 October, arguing that the announcements are not allowed during the pre-election period. It names Loles Tronch, mayor of Sant Lluís on Menorca; Pedro Pons, mayor of Ferreries on Menorca; and Antònia Camps, mayor of Es Migjorn Gran on Menorca.

The complaints come amid a row with the PP. Més per Menorca says the party criticised Ciutadella council and its mayor over practices that have also occurred in PP-run councils. It accuses the PP of targeting political opponents and has urged it to ease tensions. The complaints put the three councils’ posts before the electoral board; no ruling is reported.
