Mercadona’s roscón bombón returns with double filling

Mallorca’s Mercadona stores get the roscón bombón back on Thursday, 5 November. The Christmas cake returns with double filling, a chocolate coating and a softer recipe. Mercadona said in Palma, Mallorca, on Wednesday that customers had been asking for it to return for years.
The cake also has new decoration. Mercapastry makes it in Talamanca del Jarama, Madrid.
Mercadona’s full roscón range is due in stores from 3 December, including filled, unfilled, and gluten- and lactose-free versions. Recipe and preparation changes give the filled and unfilled cakes a softer texture, while a protective wrapper helps them keep better.
