Mallorca firm forecasts for Spain's 44 Dakar athletes

Mallorca-based Meteoclim is set to provide the Spanish Olympic Committee with weather forecasts for its 44-strong team at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, from 31 October to 13 November 2026. The Spanish athletes will compete in 14 disciplines.

Nearly 2,700 young athletes from around the world will take part across Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly. Temperature, humidity, wind and rain can affect preparation and the running of events, particularly outdoors. Meteoclim says its forecasts will help the committee keep track of conditions during the Games.

Meteoclim began as a spin-off from the University of the Balearic Islands. Since 2017, it has been part of WDNA Group, which is based at ParcBit on Mallorca. The Dakar Games will be the first Olympic event held on the African continent.
