205 migrants arrive across Balearics on Wednesday

A further 46 migrants arrive at Cabrera and Formentera on Wednesday afternoon, taking the day’s total across the Balearic Islands to 205.

Rescue teams save 29 people from sub-Saharan Africa at 18.50, five miles south of Cabrera. They appear to be in good health. Maritime Rescue, the Guardia Civil’s provincial maritime service and the tax and border section at Palma port take part in the operation.

At 20.15, the Guardia Civil intercepts 17 migrants from the Maghreb at Playa Migjorn on Formentera. Officers from the Formentera post and the command’s citizen security unit, USECIC, join the operation.

The Government Delegation reports that 205 migrants have reached different points of the Balearic Islands on Wednesday.
