Rescuers pull 17 people from a boat two miles south of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands at 23.40 on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The rescue brings the day’s total to at least 101 migrants across seven boats.
Spain’s maritime rescue service, Salvamento Marítimo, and the Civil Guard unit in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia take part. The Spanish government’s delegation in the Balearic Islands says the migrants are from the Maghreb.
Earlier on Tuesday, authorities intercepted 84 others at sea and on land after boats arrived at Formentera, Cabrera and Ibiza.
