Migrant-led projects take the spotlight in Palma

In Palma, Mallorca, migrant-led projects take the spotlight on Saturday: Mercat Social and the Intercoopera Foundation bring people together to discuss migration, anti-racism and ways to build an economy that includes more people. The meeting at the Auditorio Mater in Son Gotleu will feature conversations, project presentations and workshops. Barcelona’s Ateneo Cooperativo will join groups and organisations from Mallorca to share what it has learned.

The Barcelona organisation helps migrants set up co-operatives to meet their needs through collective businesses. Its experience will give the Mallorca groups a starting point for talking about the challenges they share and what an inclusive economy could look like. The organisers hope the workshops will strengthen links and uncover ways for projects in different places to work together.
