26 migrants rescued from a boat off Formentera

Salvamento Marítimo and the Guardia Civil rescued 26 migrants from a boat eight miles south-east of Formentera at about 08.30 on Wednesday.
The Spanish Government’s delegation in the Balearics said the group was of Maghrebi origin. The boat was described as a patera, a term used in Spain for this type of migrant vessel.
The rescue brings the number of migrants intercepted across the Balearics on Wednesday to 78.
