A total of 205 migrants arrived at different points across the Balearic Islands on Wednesday. The arrivals take the number reaching the islands in 2026 to more than 5,600, Balearic Government president Marga Prohens said. On Thursday, 17 September, she called on the central government and the PSOE to act.
Prohens said the islands were becoming Europe’s main entry point for irregular migration. She said her government could not be expected to accept the figures as normal.
The president also said protecting borders could not be abandoned. Her message on X ended with a demand for the central government and the PSOE to act now.
