Formentera: 39 migrants arrive in two small boats

Thirty-nine migrants arrived in Formentera in two small boats on Friday, 25 September. At 06.09, 21 people from the Maghreb were intercepted on land at El Pilar de la Mola. Earlier, at 04.35, 18 people from the Maghreb were rescued six miles south of the island.
The boat carrying 21 people was the second patera of the day in Formentera. Patera is the Spanish term for a usually small migrant boat.
The two boats follow eight others that reached different points of the Balearics on Thursday, carrying 150 people in total.
