45 migrants found off Mallorca and on Formentera

The Guardia Civil and Maritime Rescue rescued 28 migrants from a boat ten miles south-east of Santanyí, Mallorca, at about 16.40 on Wednesday, 16 September. Earlier, at about 13.30, they found 17 migrants from the Maghreb in s'Estufador, Formentera. The two operations involved 45 people.
The people in the boat off Mallorca were from sub-Saharan Africa, according to the Government Delegation. Across the Balearic Islands, 142 migrants reached the coasts on Wednesday.
