Oliver wants national associations to work more closely together and engineers to have a stronger say in European decisions. His priorities include energy independence, secure supply chains and control over technology. He also wants to connect engineers across countries and generations, with particular attention to young professionals and Europe’s shortage of technical specialists.

An industrial and computer engineer, Oliver plans to meet Eurel’s member associations, hear their priorities and develop joint projects. Carlos Medina, president of the Spanish council, said the election gives Spanish industrial engineers a stronger presence in the European discussions shaping their industry’s future.
