On Mallorca, the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Palma plans a €2.6 million cultural programme for 2027, pairing a poetry exhibition with work on its historic spaces. Palma City Council announced the plans on Friday. The exhibition, Miró. Pintor de paraules, is due to open in May.

The show will explore Joan Miró’s links with poetry, poets and books, including his connections to Pablo Neruda, René Char and Jacques Dupin. Separate presentations will look at Lapidari, his collaboration with Pere Gimferrer, and Ubú aux Baléares, linked to the work of Alfred Jarry.

Work on the foundation’s spaces

Son Boter is expected to reopen in December once restoration work is complete. The foundation also plans conservation work at Taller Sert and continued maintenance of the Moneo building and its gardens. It will renew its other gardens and strengthen the sculpture garden.
