Balearic contestant takes second at Miss World 2026

Elisabeth Reynés of the Balearic Islands has taken second place at Miss World 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The 22-year-old was named first runner-up — the contestant placed second — at the gala on 6 September. Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic won the crown, while Malaysia came third.

It is Spain’s second-best result in the competition’s 75-year history, behind Mireia Lalaguna’s win in 2015. Reynés is now among the small group of Spanish contestants to have reached the podium.

Strong run before the final

Reynés had already stood out during the month-long competition. She won the continental Beauty with a Purpose event, becoming the first Spanish contestant to do so.

She was also named Miss World Europe and featured in five of the seven contests held during the pageant.

Studies alongside pageants

Reynés has a degree in Accommodation Management and is studying Hotel Management at the University of the Balearic Islands.

Her second place follows Carmen Cervera’s third-place finish in 1961. Lalaguna remains the only Spanish winner of the Miss World crown.
