A recent report by the International Organization for Migration identifies Boumerdés as one of the places where boats depart for the islands. Alarm Phone says it hopes the 20 people are found safe.

Since Monday, 258 people aboard 16 boats have reached the coasts of Mallorca, Eivissa and Formentera, according to the Spanish government’s delegation in the Balearic Islands. The information does not establish whether any of those arrivals is connected to the missing boat.
