Ten people are missing after their boat left Boumerdés, Algeria, on 26 October. Their families have heard nothing from them since, according to Alarmphone, a group that supports people crossing the Mediterranean. It reported the disappearance in a post on X on 2 November.
Alarmphone says the maritime rescue service Salvamento Marítimo is believed to have been alerted. The group hopes the ten will be found alive.
Boumerdés is one of the Algerian departure points for migrant boats trying to reach Europe. It lies close to the coast of the Balearic Islands.
