Six Mallorca towns get mobile help for self-employed

A mobile help desk for self-employed people has started in Marratxí and will call at six Mallorca towns before moving on to the other islands. The Oficina del Autónomo itinerante, a travelling advice office, began its route on Wednesday, 23 September. It offers help with funding, applications and administrative questions for self-employed workers and people planning to start on their own.

On Mallorca, the office will be in Inca on 24 September and Alcúdia on 30 September, with stops also planned in Llucmajor, Manacor, Felanitx and Calvià. The island leg is part of a 15-municipality route that runs until 16 October.

Help with grants and paperwork

The service provides information on grants, subsidies and calls for applications, including schemes aimed specifically at self-employed workers. It also covers support for companies and shops that self-employed people may be able to use.

Staff will give personalised advice, answer administrative questions and help people submit applications. They will also explain measures including Cuota Cero, aid for established self-employed workers and the so-called self-employed shield.

Two advisers will visit local businesses

Two professionals will visit shops, establishments and businesses in every municipality as well as helping people who come to the mobile office. The National Federation of Self-Employed Workers’ Associations, ATA, provides the team.

Business, Self-Employed and Energy Minister Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro said self-employed workers had been “abandoned” for too many years and were still being weighed down by bureaucracy and rules that did not reflect their reality.

The central Oficina del Autónomo at Plaça de Son Castelló in Palma offers face-to-face advice from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 14.00.
