Marratxí European Mobility Week programme for families
Marratxí, Mallorca, will hold its European Mobility Week from 17 to 20 September, with cycling, road-safety education and family activities. The Council of Marratxí is staging the programme under the theme ‘Mobility for all’, promoting sustainable transport and accessibility across generations.
Mayor Jaume Llompart said the aim was to make sustainable travel part of everyday life and give families more active, healthy ways to get around. He added that transport services and public spaces must accommodate people’s differing needs, pace and abilities.
Cycling and road-safety activities
The programme opens at 18:00 on 17 September with a Social Bike ride through Sant Marçal, Es Caülls, Ses Cases Noves and Sant Llatzet. It will finish at the Sa Cabana swimming pool, where refreshments will be provided.
A road-safety education park will run from 17:00 to 20:00 on 18 September. It has two sessions of 20 participants each, and advance registration is required.
Family events
Es Figueral sports centre will host an intergenerational family games session from 10:30 to 13:00 on 19 September, combining sport and games.
The programme ends on 20 September with a family bike ride starting and finishing at Sa Vinya de Son Verí Park. The route is for children aged six and over, will last around an hour and is limited to 60 participants; advance registration is also required.
