Forty students will be able to start a new nursing degree in Manacor, Mallorca, in the 2026-2027 academic year. The Balearic Government approved the course and the opening of the Centro Universitario Instituto Nebrija de Mallorca on 18 September 2026. Classes will be taught face to face at the Manacor centre, which is affiliated with the Antonio de Nebrija University.

The degree will run for four academic years and carry 240 ECTS credits. The centre will initially offer 40 places for new students and plans to roll out the course gradually.

The government said the project had completed the procedures required under university rules. It received favourable reports on its academic and social viability, while the State Universities Council checked the course plan and the relevant university quality agency gave a positive assessment.

Teaching and health facilities have also been shown to meet the requirements for health-science courses, according to the government. Government spokesperson Antoni Costa said the approval launches a new university project in the Balearic Islands aimed at training health professionals.
