Mallorca Island Council’s second vice-president, Pedro Bestard, faces a complaint from prosecutors over alleged misuse of official cars. His party, Vox, is defending his presumption of innocence. At a press conference in the Balearic Parliament in Palma on Monday, 2 November, Vox spokeswoman Manuela Cañadas said she would wait to see whether the case went to trial and what the courts decided.
Cañadas accused left-wing parties of calling for resignations only when something involved the PP or Vox. She also said of the prosecution service: “We know who it depends on.”
