Mallorca official cars: PSIB demands Bestard's exit

Mallorca’s second island council vice-president, Pedro Bestard, faces a criminal complaint over his use of official cars: on 1 November, the island’s Socialists demand his immediate removal.

Catalina Cladera, the Socialist group’s spokesperson on the Consell de Mallorca, says council president Llorenç Galmés should already have sacked the Vox politician. She argues that the complaint filed by prosecutors shows how serious the allegations are.

Cladera also calls on Balearic president Marga Prohens to act, either by having Bestard removed or by pressing him to resign. The PSIB warns that keeping him in office could have serious political consequences for Galmés and his People’s Party (PP).
