Spain's olive oil harvest forecast expected this week

Spain’s next olive oil harvest: a national production forecast could be out before the weekend, once figures arrive from the regions. Agriculture Minister Luis Planas set out the timetable on Monday, 28 September 2026, as he arrived for a meeting of European Union agriculture and fisheries ministers in Brussels.

Andalusia, Spain’s biggest olive oil-producing region, is due to publish its forecast on Tuesday. Those figures will help complete the national estimate of how much olive oil the coming harvest may produce. Planas says the government is watching the market closely while considering the needs of producers.

The ministers from the 27 European Union countries are also reviewing agricultural markets on Monday. Their talks include production costs, particularly the prices of diesel, fertiliser and animal feed. Spain’s national olive oil forecast is expected to follow once the regional figures are in.
