Mallorca: Online safety help for 20 children in care

Mallorca: 20 children under protection measures live at the Padre Montalvo residential centre, where a specialist helps them use technology safely. The Council of Mallorca highlighted the centre’s work on Tuesday, 29 September.

The centre has updated its rooms and daily routines to meet the needs of the children and teenagers in its care. It also follows their progress at school and supports their education.

Its work is part of Mallorca’s residential care plan, which sets out shared steps to prevent, detect and respond to possible violence in care centres. The Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs has adopted Padre Montalvo’s online safety role in other centres in its residential care service, so they too can address digital risks.
