Mallorca start-up contest offers €33,000 to over-50s

Mallorca hosts the final stop of the +50Emprende start-up contest on 14 January, with €33,000 in cash prizes on offer to entrepreneurs aged 50 and over. The money is split across six prizes in the contest’s eighth edition.

The tour began in Madrid on 14 October. It stopped in Barcelona on Wednesday, where 20 projects were presented. Before reaching Mallorca, it is due to visit Toledo on 4 November, Seville on 2 December and Madrid again on 16 December.

The contest is run by SAVIA, a project of the Endesa Foundation with the Máshumano Foundation and production company 02:59 films. It aims to tackle age prejudice at work. Alongside the cash prizes, it offers support worth €20,000, including training and advice. Applications remain open until 17 January 2027.
