4.8 million passengers: Palma airport grows in August
Palma airport handles 4.8 million passengers in August, 2.3% more than in August 2025. Airport operator Aena released the figures on 15 September for Son Sant Joan in Palma, Mallorca. International travellers accounted for 3.86 million of the total, while 941,130 used domestic flights.
International traffic leads August
International passenger traffic rose by 2.1% compared with August 2025. Domestic traffic grew faster, up 3.3% on the same month last year.
The airport recorded 32,324 aircraft movements — take-offs and landings — during August. That was 2.8% more than in August 2025.
24.4 million passengers since January
From January to August, 24.4 million passengers passed through Son Sant Joan, a 2.2% increase on the same period last year.
The airport recorded 175,341 flights over those eight months, up 1.8% year on year.
