Palma park gets €35,713 sports and yoga area
Work is under way at Arabella-Son Xigala Park in Palma after €35,713 was allocated to expand and renew its outdoor leisure and exercise facilities. Palma City Council announced the project on Tuesday, 8 September. It includes a new calisthenics area and exercise equipment aimed at encouraging physical activity for people of all ages.
Yoga space and new equipment
An artificial-grass area will be created for yoga and other outdoor sport and leisure activities. The project also covers ground preparation, foundations, paving and improvements to the space needed for the new facilities.
More planting and future shade
The council will add planting areas, renew existing flower beds and introduce species suited to the Mediterranean climate. Climbing plants are also due to be planted on the park's existing pergolas, gradually creating new areas of natural shade.
