Palma bus bag: police trace owner of €2,829

A woman holidaying outside Spain has learned that the bag she left on a Palma bus on 4 September has been found. Palma Local Police traced her after the bag, containing €2,829, passports and bank cards, was handed in from bus line 7.

The driver spotted the forgotten bag during his shift and took it to the Empresa Municipal de Transportes, Palma’s municipal transport company. Two company representatives then delivered it to the Local Police Lost Property Office.

Officers found two Spanish passports and a wallet containing documents, bank cards and the cash. When they could not reach the owner by phone, the police’s External Relations and Press Department searched social media.

They eventually found a mutual acquaintance and made direct contact with the woman. She received the news with relief and thanked the police.
