Palma bus sex assault case: jail bid for two women
A man faces a prosecution bid for one and a half years in prison over allegations that he sexually assaulted two women, one a minor, on an Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT) bus in Palma, Mallorca. The First Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands hears the pre-trial hearing at 09:30 on Tuesday. Prosecutors say the alleged assaults took place on the night of 17 May 2025.
The man is accused of approaching a woman he did not know from behind and touching her bottom without her consent. He then allegedly went to a minor who was sitting on the bus and repeatedly rubbed his genitals against her upper thigh.
Prosecutors are also seeking 1,000 euros in compensation over what they describe as two sexual assault offences. The accused is barred from using EMT buses.
