Palma break-ins: man held over 11 suspected raids
In Palma, Mallorca, police link a man to 11 break-ins at businesses, and a court orders him held on remand. The National Police reported his arrest on 3 October. Investigators say ten of the break-ins took place in the city centre and one in Can Pastilla, Palma, over recent weeks.
Police say the man forced his way into restaurants outside opening hours using lever-like tools. He allegedly took money from tills, usually between 500 and 1,200 euros, as well as other cash and mobile phones.
A separate investigation linked him to the theft of a high-end electronic device from a shop near Sindicat, Palma. Investigators also say he had tried days earlier to take a till containing about 2,000 euros from a restaurant in El Arenal, Mallorca. After his arrest, police accused him of 11 break-ins and one shop theft. A court then ordered him held in custody pending trial.
