Mallorca car meets: Palma issues 10 fines to drivers
Palma police issued 10 fines to six drivers after car meets in the Can Valero industrial estate in Palma, Mallorca, on 19 and 20 September. Officers moved against unauthorised vehicle gatherings, racing and behaviour they said put people at risk.
Five of the fines were for reckless driving. Three drivers were on the road without a valid mandatory vehicle inspection, known in Spain as the ITV. Police also fined one driver for needless acceleration that caused disturbing noise and another for lacking compulsory third-party insurance.
52 police operations in Can Valero this year
The action forms part of an ongoing Palma Local Police campaign in Can Valero. By 22 September 2026, officers had carried out 52 operations in the industrial estate, identified almost 600 people and checked around 250 vehicles.
Five vehicles were towed to the municipal depot. Police also sent 120 reports to Spain’s Dirección General de Tráfico traffic authority and issued 76 more notices for traffic-rule breaches. One report included criminal proceedings.
More patrols planned
Officers recorded 19 cases of drinking alcohol in the street, six involving possession or use of drugs, and four administrative reports.
Palma Local Police said it will continue preventive patrols and targeted operations in industrial estates and on the municipality’s main roads. The force says it aims to keep car meets under control while protecting road safety and neighbours’ night-time rest.
