Mallorca fire guts Palma flat, woman treated for smoke
Mallorca: A fire guts a third-floor flat in Palma shortly before 16.00 on 31 October. Flames come through the windows of the home on Simó Ballester street, at its junction with Argentina avenue. A woman is treated at the scene for mild smoke inhalation.
Palma Fire Service says the fire starts in the dining room, but its cause is not yet known. No one is inside the flat when it begins. Other people in the 12-storey building stay in their homes or go up to the roof terrace.
Firefighters from the Sa Taulera station put out the blaze. SAMU 061, the emergency medical service, sends a basic life support ambulance, an advanced life support ambulance, a duty officer and a logistics vehicle. The flat is completely gutted.
