Palma kidnapping case: prosecutor seeks 11 years

Prosecutors are seeking 11 years in prison for a man accused of holding his partner against her will for about five hours in Palma, Mallorca. The Second Section of the Balearic Provincial Court is due to hold a pre-trial hearing at 10.00 on Thursday, 17 September. He is accused of assaulting and threatening her despite a restraining order.

The prosecution is also seeking 3,000 euros in compensation. The charges include breaching the court protection measure, threats, abuse, degrading treatment and unlawful detention.

According to the indictment, the pair met in Palma on 26 December 2026. The man allegedly accused the woman of looking at another boy, pulled her hair, took her phone and led her to the former prison.

Prosecutors say he forced her into the abandoned building and threatened her with a box cutter, saying he would tie her up. He allegedly told her he was doing it to “correct” her because she was his woman and would stay with him.

During the time she was allegedly unable to leave, the woman suffered blows, grabs to the neck, pushes, kicks, punches and attempted suffocation, the prosecution says.
