Mallorca rail link: Balearics demand Palma–Llucmajor cash

The Balearic Government is pressing Spain’s Transport Ministry to fund a planned rail line from Palma, Mallorca, to Llucmajor. Housing, Territory and Mobility Minister José Luis Mateo made the demand on Wednesday as both sides resumed technical talks on expanding Mallorca’s rail network.
The working group has met again after a gap of a year and a half since its first session, Mateo said. Balearic Government technicians used the meeting to call for the rail agreement to be restored and for the Spanish Government to provide funding.
Mateo said backing for the future Palma–Llucmajor connection was “a question of justice”.
