Palma Parliament falls silent for two former MPs

The Parliament in Palma, Mallorca, opened its first sitting of the political year on Wednesday with a minute’s silence for two former members who have died. Jesús Guillermo Martínez de Dios served as an MP during the third legislative term. Celestí Alomar held a seat during the fifth and sixth terms.
The tribute began the first full parliamentary sitting of the new political year. It is also the final such sitting before the 2027 elections, putting the chamber’s return to business alongside a moment of remembrance for its former colleagues.
