Mallorca police plan response to Palma rally call
Mallorca’s capital, Palma, has a police operation planned for Friday, 30 October, after anonymous Instagram accounts called for a gathering at 19.30 in Plaza de España. Spain’s National Police and Palma’s Local Police are preparing the response. Police sources say they have held several planning meetings and will deploy officers according to the risk they identify.
The operation is due to last several days and cover the Halloween weekend. Police do not plan extra reinforcements or a special operation. They say they have found no organised Blocus groups in Palma, unlike those apparently linked to unrest in Barcelona.
The organisers have not notified the Government Delegation of the gathering. Their online call urges people to come together “for a fairer future, for a better Mallorca for everyone”.
