The alleged assault took place in the early hours of 16 September 2022, according to the prosecution. The woman had gone out with the accused man’s sister, and she and the man had been to several nightlife venues in Palma. They later went to a flat. Prosecutors say he took advantage of the woman being affected by alcohol, threw her onto a bed, undressed and slapped her, then held her tightly by the arms and raped her.

The prosecution says the alleged assault has affected the woman’s personal wellbeing, emotional stability and ability to carry out her daily activities.
