Palma, Mallorca: volunteers pull 228 kilos of rubbish from the seabed and shore, including a lorry tyre weighing 52 kilos. Dozens took part in the Dive Cornet de Tap clean-up at Club Náutico de Cala Gamba last weekend. They also found metal, plastic, glass, textiles, mobile phones and a vape.

The event was part of the 12th International Seabed and Beach Clean-up, held at sites across Spain. Teams nationwide collected more than seven tonnes of waste, the Red de Vigilantes Marinos network said.

Bad weather disrupted some of the work. For safety, organisers moved clean-ups to other sites, reduced team sizes, cancelled dives or postponed the work.
