The plan also puts €4.74 million towards renewing water and sewer pipes. Emaya says the work aims to make the network more efficient and reduce faults. Its total investment budget remains at the previous year’s level, while forecast income is up 3.34 per cent from €155.9 million.

Emaya also plans to keep replacing street-cleaning and waste-collection vehicles, giving priority to mechanical sweepers and refuse lorries. It spent €15.6 million on the fleet over the past three years, compared with €9.5 million in the preceding three.
