Palma stabbing: woman stabs partner with kitchen knife

In the Palma stabbing, a man sat semi-conscious in a flat in Camp Redó, Palma, on Sunday at about 20.00, with a T-shirt pressed against an abdominal wound. Beside him, a crying woman told officers she had stabbed him with a kitchen knife. National Police arrested both after the incident.

The man is suspected of mistreating his partner. The woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide.

Police said an argument had begun earlier that day. They say the man pushed the woman, they struggled and he punched her several times in the face.

The woman tried to get help before taking a kitchen knife and stabbing him in the abdomen, police said. The man stepped back, while she fled and asked a neighbour for help.

An ambulance treated both detainees. The man was taken to hospital with a cut to his right arm and a stab wound to the abdominal wall. Police said no vital organs were affected, and he was discharged a few hours later.
