Palma volleyball trophy brings four games to Son Moix

Four matches will bring the Ciudad de Palma Volleyball Trophy to Son Moix Municipal Sports Palace in Palma, Mallorca, on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. The women’s programme puts the island’s three Superliga 2 sides on the same bill for the first time, before a men’s match closes the event. Palma City Council presented the tournament on Monday.

Superliga 2 is Spain’s second-tier volleyball competition. JS Hotels Cide Palma, Anaya Mayurqa Voley Palma and U Energía Sóller will all play in the division this season.

Anaya Mayurqa Voley Palma open the tournament against U Energía Sóller at 11.00 on Saturday. JS Hotels Cide Palma then face Anaya Mayurqa Voley Palma at 17.30.

On Sunday, JS Hotels Cide Palma meet U Energía Sóller at 10.00. Anaya Mayurqa Voley Palma play CV Elche Grupo Alcudia in the men’s fixture at 12.00.

This year’s trophy honours Toni Parejo, who was closely linked to volleyball in Palma and helped found Club Voleibol Mayurqa.
