Mallorca clusters save €45,900 at new ParcBit offices

Five Mallorca business clusters have been given offices at ParcBit in Palma, saving them an estimated €45,900 a year. The groups receive their own ground-floor space in the Edificio Disset building, plus a shared room. The Balearic Government handed over the new spaces on Tuesday, 8 September.

Bioib, CliQIB, ConstruLab360, Balearic Marine Cluster and TEIB are the five groups moving in. Economy, Finance and Innovation Minister Antoni Costa and Innovation and Digital Transformation Director Sebastián González have already handed the keys to their representatives.

Space for five growing sectors

Bioib brings together organisations in health, biotechnology and biomedicine. CliQIB represents the Balearic Islands’ chemical industry, while ConstruLab360 focuses on digitalisation and sustainable construction.

Balearic Marine Cluster represents the nautical industry. TEIB groups businesses and organisations in energy and environmental fields. Bioib, CliQIB and TEIB had previously shared space at the Son Espanyol building, but needed more capacity as their work grew.

Money released for projects

The government puts the annual value of the space at about €45,900. It says the saving can be used for innovation projects, business advice, securing funding and organising events.

Bringing the five groups together at ParcBit is intended to strengthen work between clusters, companies, research centres, the university and public administration. The government also expects shared infrastructure and services to be used more efficiently.
