Mallorca parent courses begin for families with under-6s
Mallorca parent courses for families with children aged 0 to 6 begin on 17 September 2026, with talks and workshops in Inca, Manacor and Calvià. The SOM Família programme offers practical help with childcare, education and family life.
The Council of Mallorca is running sessions at the Museu del Calçat in Inca, the CEP on Passeig d’Antoni Maura in Manacor and Es Generador in Calvià. It plans to expand the programme gradually with activities and subjects for other age groups.
The first sessions cover first aid, encouraging children to read, educational discipline and children becoming more independent. They also address balancing family life with other responsibilities, shared responsibility at home, tantrums, children’s demands and eating habits in early childhood.
Island councillor for the Presidency Toni Fuster said the scheme is not about telling parents how to raise their children. Instead, it aims to give them professional support, resources and useful tools for everyday life. Participants can put questions to professionals and share experiences with other families.
