Palma police arrest six over party drug sales
Six men have been arrested in Palma, Mallorca, over suspected sales of cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and tusi near an illegal afterparty and a leisure event. National Police made the arrests during operations in the early hours from Saturday to Sunday last weekend. The Balearic Islands Police Headquarters announced the arrests on 4 September.
Police stepped up checks because of the large number of young people in the city over the weekend, targeting small-scale drug dealing.
Checks near illegal afterparty
At a security check near a house in Es Pil·lari where an illegal afterparty was taking place, officers identified more than 100 people. They noticed many young people heading towards a parking area.
Some made what police described as “abrupt and unusual” manoeuvres after spotting officers, apparently to avoid the check. Police say they caught three men selling drugs inside their cars and arrested them on suspicion of offences against public health.
Officers seized quantities of tusi, MDMA and ketamine, along with cash in small-denomination notes.
Three more arrests by leisure event
A second operation near a leisure event led to the arrest of three more men, whom police say were dealing drugs in a parking area.
They seized small amounts of tusi, ketamine and MDMA, a small set of scales and nearly €800 in small notes.
