Mallorca: Inca pensioners could get a week’s tax delay

In Inca, Mallorca, pensioners could get around seven more days before certain municipal tax payments leave their bank accounts. Vox plans to ask Inca Town Council on Thursday to examine a change to direct debits due just before the extra November payment. The aim is to collect those bills after both the monthly payment and the extra payment arrive, if council staff find the change technically and legally possible.

Vox spokesperson Fanny Blasco says the council already offers more time to pay municipal charges, but should look at whether it can adjust some collection dates. The party says the delay could help avoid overdrawn accounts, returned payments and later trips to council offices.

The proposal would not cut anyone’s tax bill. Vox wants the council’s governing team to assess the change and consider adding it to the municipal tax calendar. For now, no collection date has changed.
