Balearic pensions rise to €1,283.90, trail Spain
The 217,205 contributory pensions paid in the Balearic Islands average €1,283.90 a month in September. That is 4.67% higher than a year earlier, but still below Spain’s average of €1,374.57. The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration released the figures on Friday.
The number of contributory pensions on the islands is up 1.75% on the same month last year. Retirement pensions make up the largest group: 146,803 people receive an average of €1,454 a month.
A further 45,831 people receive a widow’s or widower’s pension averaging €881 a month. Permanent incapacity pensions go to 18,380 people, with an average monthly payment of €1,192.
Orphan’s pensions are paid to 6,073 people and average €467 a month. Another 118 people receive family-member benefits, averaging €806.
Across Spain, Social Security paid 10,547,417 contributory pensions to more than 9.5 million people in September. The general pension increase approved for 2026 is 2.7%.
